After the Riquelme incident, my respect for Maradona dropped and I have some doubts whether they can pull this off if he doesn't put his ego in check and handle his players like a good manager. I guess time will tell.

World Debate: Why Argentina Won't Qualify For The World Cup
Believe it or not but it is very likely that Argentina will fail to qualify for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Every statement needs to be backed up with proof and evidence, and with not too long left in the South American World Cup qualifiers there is reason to believe that Argentina will miss out.
Argentina currently find themselves in fourth place of the ten-team group, a position that will automatically qualify them for the tournament, but not only is morale low at the moment but Argentina are the team who have the hardest closing schedule of the ten teams.
In Argentina's final four qualifiers they face Brazil (1st place), Paraguay (2nd place), Peru (10th place) and Uruguay (6th place). Apart for the game with Peru, Argentina will clash with three extremely difficult teams who they have struggled against in recent times.
When the qualifiers resume in September Los Albicelestes take on South American group leaders Brazil in Buenos Aires. Not only will they be forced to win by the home fans, but if they lose the game this could secure Brazil qualification for the World Cup. Brazil will be motivated by this, and the strength of their squad suggests Dunga's side will pick up all three points.
Argentina have been on the losing end against Brazil in recent times, and the Selecao, who thrashed them 3-0 in the final of the 2007 Copa America, will come into the showdown as the overwhelming favourites.
Next up are Paraguay, a team Argentina drew 1-1 with in Buenos Aires, and one that has made life very difficult for the Argentines in the past as well. Paraguay could also close in on a World Cup berth with a win, and will surely be excited to do this at home in Asuncion against Argentina.
While Argentina are expected to beat Peru, who they also drew 1-1 with in the first round, their final fixture is against fierce neighbours Uruguay, a team who they traditionally have trouble with. Last time the teams met in a World Cup qualifier in Montevideo Uruguay won 1-0, and the Uruguayans will surely try to inflict another defeat on their River Plate rivals.
From the four matches it would be fair to say that Argentina would pick up between 3-6 points. If they were to obtain this amount of points they could miss out on an automatic World Cup berth. Essentially, Argentina could be facing a two-legged playoff with a team from the CONCACAF region if they end up in fifth place.
In the 1994 World Cup qualifiers this was the case, and Argentina only managed to qualify for the World Cup after beating Australia 2-1 on aggregate in the playoff.
With only 6 wins in 14 qualifiers it is evident that Argentina have struggled. The appointment of Diego Maradona hasn't done them any favours, and not only are they dropping points at will but they are playing horribly. With the abundance of talent in their squad Argentina should be in the top two positions of the World Cup qualifiers, but instead they are fighting just to qualify for the tournament.
Argentina's international superstars like Lionel Messi, Carlos Tevez, Javier Mascherano and Sergio Aguero have played well below their potential, and this has affected the team as a whole. Maradona has yet to get the best out of his players.
Times are definitely tough for the Argentina camp, and unless they reverse the situation immediately they could fail to qualify for the World Cup. Such a thing would not only be a major disaster for Argentina but for football in general.
I wanna c messi vs ronaldo nxt world cup , so argentina betta qualify

On my first day back at school my teacher explains to my class she is an Inter fan.
She asks students to raise their hands if they are also inter fans.
Wanting to impress the teacher everyone but me raises their hand.
The teacher looks at me and says "Aaron, why didnt you raise your hand?"
"Because I'm not an Inter fan "I replied.
My teacher ,shocked ,asked"well if your not an Inter fan, then who are you?"
"I'm a Milan fan and proud of it!" I replied.
My teacher could not belive her ears."Aaron why are you a Milan fan? "
"Because my mom is a Milan fan and my dad is Milan fan, so I'm a Milan fan too!"
"Well," said my teacher in an obviously annoyed tone, "that is no reason for you
to be a Milan fan. You don't have to be just like your parents all the time. What
if your mom were an idiot and your dad were an a$$hole, what would you be then?"
"Then" I slowly smile "I'd be an Inter fan"

Dont worry Azz even if we don't see that Rivalry in the World Cup, we will see plenty of Messi vs Ronaldo in the La Liga this season right
I could just imagine how much more intense the Classico match will be this year and the others after that compared to the past.

Any comments on the Brazil-Argentina match last night? Brazil handed Argentina their asses (again) without any boasting before or after the game. Dunga was classy as always, crediting his side for a win against a great team. I'm glad Maradona has had to swallow his words and look like a fool in front of the world for boasting and not treating his opponent with respect.
Wish I could respect Maradona as a coach but his ego and stupidity get in the way. With such a great collection of players you would think he would have more success. I guess it goes to show how important it is to have a good coach.

I think Maradona's going to get the sack soon. Even if they do qualify for the World Cup he'll probably get sacked after the tournament. A little bit like Raymond Domenech just that Maradona's not so lucky.

Argentina are crap right now (compared to their usual form and skill)... they might even miss out on South Africa for the first time I can remember!
I can tell you one thing for sure - Brazil, Chile, and Paraguay are already in for biggest competition in the world in 2010; the fourth is up for grabs, between Ecuador, Argentina, Uruguay, and possibly Colombia.

If you really want to argue about something I have more knowledge and advantage over you with, I DARE you to make a topic in the Lounge and then we can argue about it.
In case you were being generally nice and misunderstood, I meant no species should be owned and treated like a product by another.

Coz that requires certain people sticking to the topic.
Whats with Tevez? I never see him on the squad lists anymore or is it just me?

Maradona replaced him with Aguero. And now Goal.com says he might be excluding Messi, Aguero and Mascherano in the matches against Peru and Uruguay. Well if he really thinks it will help them to qualify and play better, then he should by all means go ahead. But I really doubt taking 3 of the best players in the world out of the squad would help...

Basically he is Clueless at Managing IMO. You should get the best players in(, in his case Messi, Tevez, Aguero, Masch, Riquelme Etc).
