Aston Villa are weighing up a move for Turkish international Tuncay Sanli, according to Sky Sports.

Tuncay, who was one of the stand-out performers of last term's Premier League, has attracted much interest from the English top-flight in the wake of Middlesbrough's relegation to the Championship.

With many warming to the skills of the playmaker, Martin O'Neill is said to be the man at the front of the queue for the Turk's signature.

Liverpool were reportedly interested in Tuncay, but it seems now that the 27-year-old may well be spending next season at Villa Park.

Regardless of where the former Fenerbahce star goes, he will no doubt be looking to spend next season in the Premier League to ensure he retains the captain's armband for his country.
